How the news of the Twin towers attacks was received in Couseri, Cameroon (part 2)

Imam Mustapha after some procrastinations, decided to ring the sub district officer Ali Lenin Nguelemedouga, for he was not only the representative of the government in the area, he was above all, the most educated male Muslim. His opinion mattered. He decided to ring Ali Lenin Nguelemedouga, in the presence of other religious dignitaries. And when he broke the news to Ali Lenin Nguelemedouga, the sub district officer (SDO) of Couseri, Far North province of Cameroon, he pretended as though he was not aware of the news. However, Nguelemedouga told the Imam of Couseri that: “we must try all we can and this in our possible means, to show to others that, our religion is not what those terrorists have just done”. And he added: “it is necessary to start making things clear now, because, our brothers in the south of the country, who are Christians, and whom late Ahmadou Ahidjo instead of transforming them into Muslims, kept playing with them. They will now start laughing at us”. While the Imam appreciated the suggestions made by Nguelemedouga, he (Imam Mustapha) nevertheless, reminded him (Ali Lenin Nguelemedouga) by saying: “southerners are not our brothers as long as they not Muslims”.

He continued: “Our brothers are in Kano, Sokoto( both cities are located in Northern Nigeria), N’djamena ( Republic of Chad), and Zinder ( Republic of Niger), Greater Northern provinces of Cameroon and pockets of regions in the North West, west and south west provinces of Cameroon who are Muslims and in other Islamic countries”. Imam Mustapha added: “your suggestion that we should do everything not to let people tarnish the image of our religion and in particular, that of his prophet Mohamed is brilliant.” Imam Mustapha questioned Nguelemedouga aka Ali: “But what do you really think we should do, before the infidels of greater south Cameroon, that, you are calling our brothers could start insulting our religion?” Remember! The Imam insisted: “your name is Ali and Ali was the nephew of our prophet. He was a defended of pure Islam and you need to follow his footsteps.” Ali Nguelemedouga responded: “we have a problem here and it is that of Fatima and me. It seems our wise brothers of the holy court are studying it. As you know, I have promised to get married to Fatima. But how can I get married to a person who will soon be killed by stoning, according to the sharia law?”
